If you've followed me for a while, you've probably heard me talk about a growth mindset. Even so, stick with me, because this concept can always go deeper.

Psychologist Carol Dweck coined the term “growth mindset,” which refers to the belief that abilities and intelligence can be developed through dedication, hard work, and continuous learning. It stands in contrast to a fixed mindset, where people believe their abilities are static and unchangeable.

A growth mindset fosters a culture of continuous improvement. Instead of settling for the status quo, you and your team will always be looking for ways to enhance service, improve your menu, and streamline operations. With this mindset, challenges become opportunities to learn and grow, rather than obstacles that hold you back. This resilience is key to navigating the inevitable ups and downs of the restaurant industry.
